Who I Am { Being Relevant}

When I started this blog I had no idea where I wanted it to go. Truthfully, I still don't know. I want so many things for my little corner of the internet. I would be a fool to say that I don't dream of it growing and expanding.

Even though I want it to grow, though, I'm hesitant. Hesitant because I don't want to narrow down my blog content to the point where I feel trapped and struggle to write relevant, original content. I want to write about so many things. Recipes that my family enjoys. DIY projects that we have done. Tips and tricks that have worked for our family in every area of life. Organizational ideas. Deep inner thoughts that are begging to be heard. Really, truly there is no one thing I want to blog about more than other topics. I want to be flexible in what I write.

So I'm going to do myself a favor. I'm going to stop listening to the negativity and should dos that are floating around in my head when contemplating a post. I'm going to write what's on my heart. I'm going to share real life, not just the pretty things but even things that aren't so pretty. I'm simply going to write what feels right.

Who knows where this journey will lead. Maybe over time I will find I've settled into a comfortable niche. Maybe I'll write a post where I wasn't as relevant as I hoped and my lovely readers won't find it appealing. That's okay too. I'll just make a note and move on. Maybe just maybe this whole endeavor will evolve and grow and become so much more than I ever imagined. If that is the case, I will be forever grateful that I've been able to inspire you.

Because that's really what it's all about for me. I want to inspire others no matter what shape or form it comes out as. If I can inspire you, my readers, with a recipe, or a book review, or thoughts in my head, or my meager decorating and organizational skills then I've accomplished what my goal for this blog is.

Yesterday I sat and really thought through what I would want my blog description or mantra to be. I came up with this.

A place for encouragement and inspiration in all areas, life, home, recipes, and DIYs.

This is my goal, my desire. To be real above all. To stay relevant. To encourage and inspire. One post at a time. I'm so glad to have you along on this journey.
