Peppermint and Nut Christmas Crack

While we try to eat mostly healthy organic treats during the year, Christmas is the one time of the year where we throw some of the rules out the window. This Christmas Crack is one of those treats we splurge on.

There are so many variations of Christmas Crack out there. Each one is uniquely different. This recipe is my take on the classic recipe.

Peppermint and Nut Christmas Crack

  • Club crackers
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chopped Peppermint Hershey kisses
  • 1 cup chopped nuts

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Line with crackers.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar, stirring frequently. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Toffee should be between 270-290 degrees.
  4. Pour toffee over crackers. Bake 4 minutes. Turn the oven off.
  5. Remove from the oven and wait 1 minute. Pour chopped Hershey kisses over the top and let sit a few minutes to soften the chocolate. Spread evenly over the top.  Sprinkle nuts over the top. I used walnuts.
  6. Cool on counter slightly and then place in fridge to cool completely. Break into pieces.

For my version I used buttery Club crackers.

Bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil.

Let your chocolate kisses melt. Here's where you could use any form of chocolate that you would like.

Finish off with the nuts of your choice. I used walnuts but you could use any nut you'd like.

Once harden break into pieces and enjoy!
