Meet Me

I'm Sarah. I'm a second generation homesteader and granddaughter to a dairy and corn farmer. I spent my early years enjoying fields and pastures before my folks gave up their homestead and chickens and moved across country to a new state. We lived in the city but continued a yearly garden and canning.

I grew up, got married, lived in the city, had 2 kids, and then the homesteading bug hit. We purchased 5 acres in the country with the thought of homesteading on them. As luck would have it we never did more than a garden and add a third kid to the mix before we sold the property in order to move across country to be closer to family.  We moved to Oregon in 2013 and settled down in a new city.

At the beginning of 2016 the homestead bug hit again after several members of our family experienced some growing health issues. Thus began once again our homesteading journey. We grew a garden, canned food, added ducks, and made it our goal to become as self sufficient as we could.

Homesteading is a learning process and we are nowhere near where we would like to be but we are striving to continue to grow and learn. I won't claim to know everything there is to know about homesteading. This blog is our journey. Where we celebrate victories and share what we've learned.

My goal for this blog is to share our homesteading journey along with diys, crafts, recipes, and day to day life on a city homestead.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you'll come back and visit!
